KLMBGC Flag Football Program

The Kettering-Largo-Mitchellville (KLM) flag football program is one of the sports sponsored by the club. Our goal is to teach the game of football while instilling the value of team building, sportsmanship and good old fashion fun for the ages of 5 to 7.

In keeping with our commitment and dedication to the youth of the Kettering, Largo and Mitchellville communities, the KLM Boys & Girls Club is providing you with information on our upcoming football season.   For starters, Terry Cotten & Alton Weaver will take the helm as our new football commissioners for the upcoming 2012 season.

REGISTRATION:
As in previous years, you have the following options for registration:

  • You may register online for the sport of your choice via this link
  • You may register in person on the second Wednesday or 3rd Tuesday of each month from 6:30 until 8:00pm at Kettering Middle School, 65 Herrington Drive, Upper Marlboro; MD. 20774
  • You may register at football camp or during the first two weeks of the practice season.

Registration Fee:
$105.00
$10.00 late registration fee

We highly recommend that you register online. Also, register early so you will not incur an additional fee.  Remember, you must be registered before you can play!

Age Requirements:
5 Year Olds (Birth Yr = 2007), 6 Year Olds (Birth Yr = 2006), 7 Year Olds (Birth Yr =  2005)

Practice Information:
Largo HS - 6-8pm Monday – Friday, starting:
July 16 – August 12, 2012.
July 16-19, 2012 (Football Camp)

PLEASE NOTE: Practice moves from Largo HS to Watkins Region Park on August 13, 2012.

Watkins Regional Park – 6-8pm Monday – Friday, starting:
August 13 – End of Season

Equipment Requirements:
You must purchase football cleats and a support cup.  KLMBGC will provide the practice jersey and the game uniform. No game uniforms will be issued until registration has been paid in full.

Family Participation:
The KLMBGC and its Officers urge you and your family to participate in our programs. And we advocate the partnership between the books and the ball.

Adults Get Involved – Become a coach, referee, team parent or more. We always have room for dedicated volunteers and your help is always needed and appreciated. Last year we had over 1,800 participants and we expect this year to be bigger. Please contact us to find out how you can give back to your community.

Parents – We need you to handle down markers during the games, assist coaches with administrative work, coordinate team refreshments, encourage additional parent participation, help find sponsors and make our season exciting for our kids!
